A Cuban Dream
I had been intrigued by Cuba for a long time and since returning from a trip to Havana and Santa Clara, I find myself even more intrigued. The stark juxtaposition of embracing the United States while simultaneously rejecting it is ever so present in the streets of Havana through the architecture and the iconic American cars. We stayed in an AirBnb in both cities and as we interacted with the local families, we got to see a different side of Cuba normally not experienced by travellers.
Since returning to Vancouver, I've been obsessed with learning everything I can about the Cuban revolution by watching romantic comedies like Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights to insightful documentaries like Cuba Libre. I want to know everything about this marvellous island and I can't wait to visit it again.
